I sent an initial retainer when I engaged your law firm. Why am I receiving a billing statement?
Think of the retainer as a security deposit for us.
The retainer is deposited into our attorney trust account and will remain in escrow until the conclusion of your matter with us. For your last billing statement only, we will pay the amount you owe us by way of the retainer and the balance of the retainer, if any, will be reimbursed to you.
